This one post a month virus has got to stop .....hopefully It would...So many written ideas but TIME TO TYPE....Other duties start calling..

So how have You been? At Cupidlsgift It has been a slow enjoyable mid year....Personal anniversary orders and birthday orders...all exciting and not stressful.

Back to the Topic of this post....GIVING WITHOUT GIFTS...

1. Arranging a day indoors with this person...basically going through the person's day with him..Helping with Chores,Discussing ,Laughing

2.Clear your Schedule and take a drive around town with her..Stopping at Favorite spots,window shopping....You would enjoy this

3.You could take him/her to a novel reading taking place within that period....If the person is into books

4.You Could arrange an inhouse picnic with the recipients favorite junk/drinks and have a good time gisting/watching series :)

5.Arrange a visit with the person to an orphanage/hospital and take some items to them and try to have fun there,hearing their stories and seeing the smile on their faces when they see You.

6.Go out to a Beach with edible stuff and have a perfect bonding/meditation/discussion time and finally FUN with the waves.

So it is the second half of the year and even If You don;t think You deserve a treat,,,,I think I do... :)
so take this as my treat suggestions to myself but You can decide to help youself to o some of this "ways to treat yourself".
Some of Us spend between 50,000 naira and 100,000 naira annually on buying gifts for family and friends and then on our birthdays we spend money organising for thios same group of people to have fun with Us....So Let Us fly solo this time or invite friends if You must....

1.
Splurge on bodycare
buy a perfume u would be proud of not manageable)

2.Book yourself into a hotel (you must be a social person to take this route if not....you would feel lonely)

it could be a day or a weekend just make sure the hotel has activities like LIVE BAND,Gym Classes

3. Book a Spa Date
You have been waiting for a gift like this and its midyear and nothing yet then...Do it yourself....Get a massage and a pedicure....This combination would surely make You think easier and help remove that default frown on your face...lol

4. Celebrate Anything.......I mean book a cake...call friends to come over with anything...drinks...small chops..gist......relaxxxx

5.Go for your a musical concert
stop procastinating......The ticket would not make you broke forever.....Just do it.

Sorry o.today..THERE IS NO HATING ON DADS for any reason
whether it is the numerous errands or late allowance deposit or battles...No hating today.

We are focusing on reasons to love our Dads for all that they are to Us.

Dads most of the time get the second hug (mum gets the first ) .They complain but We don't Listen....Not fair

Hope life has been fair to Y'all while we Were away.
This post has been sitting in my brain for awhile,
I have written it on paper,lost the paper,drafted on word (did not save that) OOPS!!!
So let me just type it straight from my grey matter...or what do u think?

So back to the matter at hand....GIFTS FOR THE NEW COUPLE

We would list the gifts out and try to explain why it is a good gift and what sort of couple it would suit.

1. A good quality JUICER

WHY? Because while everyone is purchasing blenders(basic), You can be assured that your Juicer would not be given out at the next wedding the couple is attending.
FOR? The health conscious young/middle age couple
DOWNSIDE: They may not use it if the model is complex.
If you can not understand the manual please don't buy it.
Oga and Madam don't want to spend their honeymoon decoding your juicer manual.:)

2. A set of WONDERFUL PILLOWS (THE FLUFFIER, THE BETTER) COULD BE THROW PILLOWS

WHY? NOBODY WOULD GIVE THEM PILLOWS.After months of preparation,their heads deserve to rest on a set of nice fluffy pillows not orthopaedic pillows o(except u have foreseen the backache the groom would get after the honeymoon :) lol)...You should be close to them to give them this gift cos as for me.I would not use a set of pillows given to me by a random acquintance.

FOR? Any Couple. The more pillows available the better.

DOWNSIDE: They may not use for the fear of seeing strangers in their dreams.You must get a nice classy set not the basic ***** foam pillows(those ones are too hard)


3.A beautiful set of cutlery

WHY? Cutleries always get stolen or missing.There is always a time when the bride would have to entertain a crowd and a 24 piece set would not be sufficient.

FOR? Any Couple for the Bride's Use

DOWNSIDE: IF it is cheap, it might rust before they get to use it so Please buy a good quality set and look out for stainless steel if You can't buy Silver.

4. A SPA VOUCHER FOR COUPLE'S MASSAGE

WHY? If u have planned a wedding You would know that after the high You feel before the and during the wedding,You feel drained the next day and You just want to sleep for months....ZZzzzzzzz. This gift of a massage can help the couple bond and relax after throwing a good party.

FOR? A Hip Couple. Conservative couples would not appreciate this unfortunately...

DOWNSIDE: Same as Above

5. A good quality food processor

Why? Also a step ahead of the basic blender.A food processor helps the new bride with her kitchen duties and gives the couple more time together.Most importantly,The bride's food creativity is given a drive.

FOR? A Couple that consists of a kitchen loving BRide

DOWNSIDE: COMPLEX MANUALS would kill the excitement. Couple most be in tune with technology

Why? Good conversation and relaxation for the couple.the perks are...friends and family may get in on the fun if You pop in to visit the newly married duo...lol

FOR:ANY COUPLE...could be purely non-alcoholic,alcolic or a mix

There would surely be chilly nights that the couples would need an external warmth generator.Give them the most comfy Duvet ever.The thing about duvets is that You cannnot go wrong.IT must be used.Most of these duvets come with Pillow cases and a bedsheet.I suggest You buy either a queen's size or king's size.

FOR: ANY COUPLE

DOWNSIDE: In Nigeria It does not get cold except during rainy season or in an airconditioned home.

9. THE GOOD OL' DINING SET

WHY? Many people would present this gift but Yours should stand out.You acn go for an odd shaped set, handpainted set or classic coloured set.Make your choice stand out

DOWNSIDE: If your choice does not stand out, Then It would be given out at the next wedding or an aunty might get it...lol

Hello People,

This post was inspired by an argument a couple had concerning getting a toaster as a wedding gift for a newly wedded upper class couple.

Mr B says "couple would obviously get more than one, let us get something else" and Mrs B says " It is the thought that matters and They can give it out if they do not need it"

So whose side are you on?

As for Me, I believe Mrs B is right with the ''It is the thought that matters'' line, However what is the point if You already know that the couple would get at least 5 toasters on their wedding day and You are THOUGHTFULLY wrapping the sixth toaster for them to give away at the next wedding they attend?????????

Mr B is also right about searching for another option because I can bet that there were other things that could have been bought that the couple would really need.

EASTER 2010 REPORT

Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope You had a wonderful easter break and enjoyed the holidays……. The break was really needed…Ummph!!!!

Preparing these Easter packages was fun for Us. Our new delivery solution took some stress off our plate. However, our call cards were not ready to go with our Easter baskets due to printer issues and Off the baskets went with no form of cupids' gift branding…L .

On a brighter note, We still got called by the recipients expressing their gratitude - though We were not the ones that paid for the packages.J

Some recipients got the exotic fruit basket with half an easter egg

The Easter egg contained smarties, frosted cupcakes,cookies and jellies

The fruit basket contained peaches, strawberries, plum, grapes, apples, pear packham and kiwi

Also delivered was a gourmet basket containing a box of cookies, a rich fruit cake, A pack of Belgian chocolate, red wine, oil burner set and a twin wooden spatulas

P.S The fruit cake is missing in this photo

This is a dark chocolate cake ( wrapped in gold film ) and a basket containing plums, grapes, pear packhams, Belgian chocolate, a bottle of wine and a potpourri set

Other baskets prepared contained boxes of couture cupcakes, cookies, bamboo coasters, twin set of champagne flutes, champagne, table runners, candle stands ,vases………

This was another successful outing. We thank God and You.We hope You invite us to work with You on your next gift giving Occasion.

For now, We are keeping busy organizing birthday gifts for staff of a company..Would update you on that and we promise to post a photo of the almighty call cards when /if they finally show up.
